A Taste of History with a Touch of Home
Nestled in the picturesque Village of Woodstock, we have enjoyed 15 years of welcoming guests to our Bed and Breakfast. The 1830 Shire Town Inn is listed on the National Register and is a farmhouse built in the 1830's.
We offer three distinctive guestrooms at affordable rates. Each room features a comfortable queen size bed, private bath with shower massage, and individually controlled heat and A/C. A full hearty breakfast is served each morning in the dining room.
The front porch is a perfect spot to sit and read in spring and summer. In winter, relax by the fireplace in the living room with cable TV, and VCR for your pleasure.
Located within sight of the Village Green, it's an easy walk to the famous Woodstock Inn, fine restaurants, specialty shops, and many fine cultural attractions. Across the street from the Inn is Vail Field, a grassy, spacious park that offers a relaxing view and a variety of recreational activities in every season.
In winter you can access the Woodstock X-C Ski Touring trails across the street or skate in a lighted outdoor rink. Killington, Okemo, and Ascutney are reasonable drives with Suicide Six just 4 miles away. Sleigh rides and sliding are available nearby
In spring, summer, and fall, the park offers tennis and playgrounds. Great hiking and biking trails, golfing, swimming, canoeing, and fishing are nearby.
Our location can't be beat year-round and the area boasts some of the most beautiful countryside in the world, in any season.
