Climb 1000 feet from the highway to Sunset Hill Ridge, and you’ll find Sunset Hill House – a large 2nd Empire Victorian which first welcomed guests in 1880.
"Best view with a room", says Yankee Magazine. Watch the sunset glow from our dining rooms while you sip champagne and enjoy our chef's classic cooking.
We offer 28 guest rooms and suites, full dining in both our formal dining rooms and in our tavern, and extensive meeting facilities.
Enjoy our library, formal parlor, and TV/game room, all with fireplaces, of course!
Master Suites, the epitome of luxury, with separate living rooms, two person Whirlpools, fireplace, and some have a private deck and wet bar. The bed is king sized, and you have views of both the White and Green Mountains.
Grand Rooms with a queen or king sized bed, gas fireplace, and whirlpool-for-two. Some are "turret rooms" with window seats, all are large and beautifully appointed.
Traditional rooms range from large and lovely to cozy rooms, some are furnished with antiques from the original Sunset Hill House, others adjoin, or have twin beds -- perfect for families.
No matter what you choose, plan to see the mountains from your window.
Want to play outdoors? Swim in our mountainside pool or lounge on the patio or deck. Take one of our mountain bikes and go for a picnic (we’ll be glad to pack one for you, and can tell you great spots to explore). Golf is only 50 feet away – play all you want. Have a splash fight in the nearby river or lakes, or go fly-fishing. Ride the aerial tramway year round, or in winter go downhill skiing at Cannon Mountain. Cross country trails? From your doorstep. Tramp around on our snowshoes. Ice skate. Go antiquing, or to the museums, or to the country store (it’s not a tourist feature – it’s the way we live!).
